KLAS Recognizes Excellence Among EHR and PACS Vendors in the U.S. and Globally

Inside the U.S., Epic was named the top Overall Software Suite for the 10th consecutive year

The Orem, Utah-based KLAS Research on Thursday published a new report, focusing on EHR (electronic health record) and PACS (picture archiving and communications systems), as offered outside the United States.

The report is called the “2020 Best in KLAS Global (Non-US) report. This report highlights the top performing Acute Care EMR and PACS vendors in each global region.

KLAS recognized the following solutions providers as regional category winners for global acute EMR: Allscripts Sunrise Acute Care (Non-US) in Canada, Cerner Millennium PowerChart (Non-US) in the Middle East/Africa, Epic EpicCare Inpatient EMR (Non-US) in Europe, MV Soul in Latin America, and InterSystems TrakCare EPR in the Asia/Oceania.

KLAS named the following regional category winners for global PACS awards: Intelerad IntelePACS (Non-US) in Asia/Oceania, PaxeraHealth PaxeraUltima PACS (Non-US) in the Middle East/Africa, Pixeon PACS Aurora (Non-US) in Latin America, Sectra PACS (Non-US) in Canada, and VISUS JiveX (Non-US) in Europe.

In a statement, Adam Gale, president of KLAS Research, congratulated the winners. “Providers and payers demand better performance, usability, and interoperability from their vendor partners every year. Best in KLAS winners set the standard of excellence in their market segment. Earning a Best in KLAS award should both excite and humble the recipients. It serves as a signal to providers that they can expect the best from the winning vendors.”

As the report noted, globally, providers in every region are increasingly looking toward their healthcare technology and services partners to help them navigate the digital healthcare landscape. The Global Best in KLAS report examines the performance of EMR and PACS products in regions outside the United States, including Asia/Oceania, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Meanwhile, for the U.S., Epic was named the top Overall Software Suite for the 10th consecutive year in the Best in KLAS 2020 Software & Services report, released on Jan. 31. Additionally, Epic was named the top Overall Physician Practice Vendor, won Best in KLAS awards in eight segments, and won Category Leader awards in four segments. Pivot Point Consulting, a Vaco Company, was named the top Overall IT Services Firm, edging out last year’s winner, Impact Advisors. Accenture earned the award of top Overall Healthcare Management Consulting Firm.

Other nuggets from the U.S. market include:

  • CPSI won Most Improved Overall Software. Customers saw the largest improvement in overall score greater than any software product KLAS rates.
  • Cerner Practice Management won the honor of being Most Improved Physician Practice Product. Small physician practices using Cerner Practice Management report a 10 percent increase in overall satisfaction; satisfaction in all areas measured by KLAS has also increased .
  • Dimensional Insight, maker of Diver Platform, topped the rankings in the healthcare business intelligence/analytics category.
