Royal Philips Launches New CareEvent Mobile Application

April 14, 2015
Philips announced its new mobile application, CareEvent, which transforms smartphones into a valuable clinical tool for nurses and caregivers who are constantly on the go within the hospital.

Royal Philips announced the addition of a new mobile application for nurses to its portfolio of advanced patient monitoring solutions yesterday at HIMSS15.  CareEvent transformers an everyday smartphone into a valuable clinical tool for on-the-go caregivers on the hospital floor--providing patient alarms and near real-time snapshots of a patient's vital signs from their mobile devices.

"Caregivers are constantly on the move within the hospital, and often have to make on-the-spot decisions with limited patient information," said Carla Kriwet, CEO, Patient Care and Monitoring Solutions, Philips. "Additionally, due to an aging society, patients tend to have more complex medical conditions. We're collaborating with caregivers to enhance patient care by developing technologies that allows clinician to easily access relevant and actionable data where and when they need it most."

This new offering joins products like IntelliVue Mobile Caregiver application for physicians, and the central monitoring station, IntelliVue Information Center iX (PIIC iX)--and helps clinicians monitor patients with contextual information about a patient's condition and actionable alerts.
