In an announcement to members, the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced on July 31 that Gretchen Tegethoff has accepted the position of vice president of CHIME Technologies, Inc., effective August 1, 2015. “The new leadership role,” the announcement noted, “will help promote CHIME's for-profit entity created last year to support innovative and robust products and services from healthcare industry vendors and manufacturers. In her role,” the announcement said, “Tegethoff will oversee the growth and development of CHIME Technologies' core business operations and services. Additionally, she will facilitate the development of new value-added services that benefit the CHIME membership and the industry as a whole.”
Since June 2014, Tegethoff has been founder and CEO of TechExec Advisors, LLC, a consulting firm based in Virginia Beach, Va. From February 2012-May 2014, she served as CIO fo Athens (Ga.) Regional Health System; and prior to that, she was CIO at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C
Tegethoff has been deeply involved in the CHIME organization as a volunteer since becoming a member in 2007. Among other roles, she has served as a member of the
CHIME Board of Trustees, the CHIME Education Foundation Board, and the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp faculty. In a statement in the announcement to CHIME members, CHIME president and CEO Russell P. Branzell and Charles E. (Chuck) Christian, CHIME’s 2015 board chairman, said, “We are extremely pleased to have a seasoned CIO and industry professional of Gretchen's caliber join our senior management team. Her leadership and experience will be a significant asset in directing the development of CHIME Technologies, Inc. and working with our vendor and service firm partners to help solve healthcare challenges.”
