Based on the success of our first hosting of the same awards program in 2016, we at Healthcare Informatics are delighted to announce the opening of the submissions process for the Leading Edge Awards 2016. At a time in healthcare when the need for IT solutions to facilitate a vast array of operational improvements in healthcare is unprecedented, it is also time to recognize achievements on the vendor side of healthcare IT.
As a result, we at Healthcare Informatics are opening the submissions process to the Leading Edge Awards: 2016. Once again, we are looking for vendor companies in the U.S. healthcare IT space to submit entries that demonstrate customer success in controlling costs, enhancing clinician workflow, and improving interoperability.
In 2015, the winning vendor organizations did the following:
- The winning company in the cost savings category was the Austin, Texas-based Loop360, which provides an advanced analytics solution that analyzes clinicians’ performance based on nationally accepted clinical guidelines. Loop360’s analytics focus on guidelines-driven standardization of practice to ultimately reduce unnecessary care delivery costs.
- In the clinician workflow enhancement category, the winning entry came from the Lexington, Massachusetts-based Imprivata, whose identity management solution focuses on saving clinicians time by better managing workstation access for clinicians. The secure log-in process has been a major pain point for patient care organizations, as they work to ensure data security. The ability of the company’s solution to move from place to place and maintain secure, efficient access, is decreasing the amounts of wasted time devoted to repeated log-ins throughout the workday.
- Until recently, there have been no information technologies that have helped the leaders of patient care organizations to easily mine and make sense of all the machine data available to them—data coming out of any kind of application, network or sensors. With its flexible platform that can help aggregate silos of data across hospitals, to tackle a broad range of areas of activity, from clinical analytics to population health data management, the San Francisco-based Splunk, Inc. became the winning company in the interoperability category.
What these companies and others are doing is to help lay the foundation for the far more effective operation of patient care organizations nationwide, and internationally. And the companies will be recognized in the January/February print issue of Healthcare Informatics, and will receive recognition at the Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards reception, to be held on the evening of Tuesday, March 1 in Las Vegas, during the annual HIMSS Conference. More details about the reception will be available soon on this website.
The submissions form is available here. We at Healthcare Informatics look forward to entries from solutions companies across healthcare!
