Telehealth vendor Teladoc announced this week that it totaled 101,600 e-health patient visits in November, setting a company record.

According to officials, the milestone was fueled by an increase in utilization among existing members, along with new members and expanded clinical services. The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) predicted the telehealth industry to record a total of 1.25 million visits in 2016, and Teladoc is doing its part to account for significant growth in the market as demonstrated by its new record monthly visit volume.

In addition to the monthly visits, Teladoc also set a daily visit record high during November of 4,158 visits, along with the busiest hour which saw 425 visits, or one visit every 8.5 seconds, according to its officials. Teladoc serves some 7,000 clients—including health plans, health systems, employers and other organizations—and more than 17 million members can use phone, mobile devices and secure online video to connect within minutes to Teladoc’s network of more than 3,100 board-certified, state-licensed physicians and behavioral health specialists, 24/7, its officials attest.

“This new milestone of more than 100,000 monthly patient visits further substantiates that Teladoc has the scalable platform, clinical expertise and member support needed to effectively manage the increased volume as more and more consumers are engaging with us,” Stephany Verstraete, chief marketing officer, Teladoc, said in a statement. “Our innovative approach to driving adoption is proving effective in shifting member mindset; members are embracing Teladoc as a valued care option.”
