Information security expert Mac McMillan, CEO of CynergisTek, has been elected to the board of trustees for the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS).
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) launched AEHIS in 2014. In this board role, McMillan will help the organization continue to evolve to meet member needs by providing ongoing healthcare information technology (health IT) security guidance, according to a press release. He also will help inform policymakers and the public on key issues impacting the HIT industry.
McMillan is a nationally renowned expert in information security and regulatory compliance in healthcare, and contributes regularly to several industry trade publications, blogs and newsletters. He brings nearly 40 years of combined intelligence, security countermeasures and consulting experience from both government and private sector positions and has worked in the healthcare industry since his retirement from the federal government in 2000.
“Mac’s involvement in AEHIS and his continued support has been instrumental in building a strong foundation, and we are glad to have him on the board of trustees as we continue to expand,” George McCulloch, executive vice president, membership and professional development, CHIME, said. “Mac is well-respected within the healthcare industry as a trusted expert on a wide range of information security issues, making him a valuable asset to both the organization as a whole, and to our individual members.”
