March 20, 2025
Following a threat on social media, the AHA and Health-ISAC caution healthcare organizations

On Wednesday, March 19, the American Hospital Association (AHA) and Health-ISAC released a joint bulletin sharing information about a potential terror attack against U.S. hospitals.

In the bulletin, the organizations share observing a social media post related to the active planning of a coordinated, multi-city terrorist attack on hospitals in the coming weeks.

No information is available to corroborate or discount this threat’s credibility, according to the organizations; however, they are in close contact with the FBI.

Health-ISAC and the AHA recommend that healthcare organizations review and evaluate the coordination and capabilities of physical security, cybersecurity, and emergency management plans.

Additionally, the organizations caution staff and security teams to remain vigilant for any suspicious activity, as well as people or vehicles on organizational premises or in the vicinity of health sector facilities.
