January 28, 2013: Six teams of healthcare leaders are being recognized by Healthcare Informatics February 2013 for their innovations in leveraging technology to improve the quality of healthcare delivery in the United States.
This year’s recipients of the annual Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards represent a broad range of organizations, including a multi-hospital system-affiliated medical group; a public health institute; a Beacon Community consortium; a community hospital; a three-hospital academic health system; and a solo physician practice. This is the fifth year in which teams are being recognized by Healthcare Informatics, the leading magazine in the healthcare IT leadership sphere. Prior to 2009, the Innovator Awards program recognized pioneering individuals in healthcare.
“We at Healthcare Informatics are once again delighted to be able to bring forward the stories of our winning teams in our annual Innovator Awards program,” said Mark Hagland, Editor-in-Chief of Healthcare Informatics. “The pioneering initiatives that these teams are engaged in exemplify the type of innovative work that will be required to transform healthcare delivery and improve today’s healthcare system for patients and communities. There is no question that strategically leveraging leading-edge information technology will be needed to achieve this transformation; and the initiatives highlighted in our February 2013 issue exemplify the best in that type of work.”
Nominations were accepted in fall 2012 and were reviewed by the Healthcare Informatics editorial staff. The teams will be recognized at the Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards Reception, to be held Monday, March 4 in New Orleans during the annual HIMSS Conference.
Healthcare Informatics is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards:
