The Premier healthcare alliance says it is accepting applications for the third wave of its QUEST Comparative Effectiveness & Innovation Program (QCEIP). The program is meant to evaluate products and clinical interventions in real-world settings at Premier member hospitals.
QCEIP aims to generate objective results to inform providers and patients about safe, cost-effective treatments for certain clinical conditions. It also aims to help the healthcare community better understand patient outcomes associated with the use of certain products.
Any healthcare supplier nationwide is eligible to join QCEIP, regardless of whether the company has a supply contract with Premier. Baxter, Lantheus Medical Imaging Inc. and Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics were selected to participate in the first phase of QCEIP. Results from these studies are pending peer review and have each been selected for presentation at Premier's Annual Breakthrough Conference and Exhibition in Nashville, Tenn.
Suppliers can apply on or before the deadline of February 3, 2012.
