The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) recently announced the availability of a new health IT Dashboard, which contains updated state EHR and health information exchange (HIE) summaries. The summaries are a result of ONC’s research and monitoring into patterns of healthcare provider adoption and use of electronic health records (EHR).
“Our ONC stakeholders and the interested public now have a more comprehensive picture of the ways in which ONC programs and research are contributing to the widespread adoption and meaningful use of health IT,” Victor T. Lazzaro, ONC's Director for the Health IT Dashboards projects, said in a statement.
The dashboard reveals the percent of office-based health care providers that have adopted EHRs in any state, how many health IT implementation support professionals have been trained by community colleges (ONC grantees) in any state, and the percentage of pharmacies that are enabled and actively using electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) technologies in any county or state.
