MedeAnalytics, an Emeryville, Calif.-based provider of data analytics solutions that are used for performance management, has appointed Andrew Hurd as the company’s CEO. Mike Gallagher, the previous CEO of the company, will continue to serve as MedeAnalytics’ executive chairman.
Hurd is an experienced healthcare IT executive, who was previously the CEO of Epocrates, which is a mobile platform for clinical content and practice tools at the point of care. Epocrates was recently acquired by athenahealth. Prior to that, he was CEO of Carefx, which was acquired by Harris Corporation in 2011. Before that, he held senior management positions at WedMD and QuadraMed.
"I have admired MedeAnalytics and what the company has accomplished for some time,” said Hurd in a statement. “I am incredibly excited about leading the company and the promising opportunities that lie ahead.”
Medeanalytics was ranked number 70 on last year’s Healthcare Informatics100 list.
