The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has doled out a five-year Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract to AMC Health, worth up to $28.8 milliion, to secure opportunities to provide telehealth solutions and services.

AMC Health, a New York-based provider of telehealth software, will provide enhancements to the VA’s telehealth initiatives reduce hospital admissions, says it will provide a system that allow veterans with chronic diseases to live independently in their own homes, improve quality of care, and expand access to care. This includes biometric patient monitoring that can measure blood pressure, blood glucose, weight, heart rate, temperature and oxygen saturation at home. The data will transmit to the AMC web portal or to any integrated electronic health record (EHR).

AMC’s web portal, the company claims, can integrate with EHR systems to provide patients with access to important health information. The telehealth will also have interactive voice response (IVR) technology that will further engagement, allowing patients to provide information about their symptoms, identify care gaps, track adherence, send reminders about physician appointments and tests, and alert case managers.

“AMC Health’s outcomes-based approach to telehealth and ability to actively engage patients to proactively self-manage their chronic conditions perfectly aligns with the VA’s telehealth goals. Both organizations focus on prevention and creating an environment in which people are motivated, engaged and feel responsible for their health,” stated Nesim Bildirici, president and CEO of AMC Health.
