Cedar Gate Extends Value-Based Care Platform Through Acquisitions
Cedar Gate Technologies has continued its acquisition spree in the value-based care arena with the purchase of Portland, Ore.-based Enli Health Intelligence, a provider of population health management technology solutions.
Based in Greenwich, Conn., Cedar Gate is a partnership between private equity firm GTCR and David Snow Jr., former chairman and CEO of Medco, that was established with the strategy of building a company to help the healthcare industry shift to value-based reimbursement from fee-for-service.
Cedar Gate has pursued a dual strategy of acquisitions and internal software development to build an enterprise software solution. Its platform includes the ISAAC performance management system, which helps payers, providers and self-insured employers optimize risk-based contracts by identifying improvements in medical loss ratios, capturing lost revenues and enhancing provider network and clinical performance.
Enli expands Cedar Gate's enterprise value-based care platform with population, cohort, and patient management technologies, including risk and quality measures, gaps in care identification and patient outreach opportunities, for improved outcomes and sustainable financial results.
Enli’s Value Navigator is a cloud-based platform that powers value-based care analytics and care coordination, enabling health systems to evaluate the financial implications of population health and make more informed treatment decisions. It automates clinical, administrative, and financial workflows associated with value-based care and payment. The platform enables integrated communications between patient and provider around a shared care plan, the company said.
“Cedar Gate continues to innovate value-based care delivery solutions for payers, providers, employers and administrative services organizations (ASOs),” said Cedar Gate CEO Snow in a statement. “By adding Enli's population health management solutions to our enterprise platform, all at-risk healthcare constituents, at any point on the value-based care continuum, can accelerate their journey to positive financial results and superior outcomes."
Closing on Dec. 31, 2020, the Enli deal was Cedar Gate's third acquisition of 2020. Earlier in the year, it purchased Raleigh, N.C.-based Citra Health Solutions, a provider of capitation management software. By acquiring Citra, Cedar Gate said it was expanding its software and services capabilities across the full spectrum of value-based care. The acquisition combines Cedar Gate’s existing capabilities in risk-based contract performance management, analytics, bundled payment solutions and advisory services with Citra’s EZ-Suite capitation platform.
In December, Cedar Gate also bought Deerwalk Inc., a software-as-a-service data and analytics vendor focused on the healthcare payer market, including health plans and self-insured employers, along with their third-party plan administrators and brokers.
