Nov. 28, 2022
Healthcare data security company, CloudWave, announced on Nov. 28 its acquisition of managed cybersecurity services company, Sensato Cybersecurity

On Nov. 28, Marlborough, Mass.-based CloudWave, a healthcare data security company, announced via a press release that the company has acquired Red Bank, N.J.-based Sensato Cybersecurity, a managed cybersecurity services company that focuses on protecting healthcare providers from cyber threats, including ransomware.

The press release states that “Sensato developed a fully integrated Cybersecurity-as-a-Service platform (CaaS) that features an innovative solution stack to provide real-time network monitoring, intrusion detection, and asset fingerprinting along with a 24x7 Security Operations Center designed specifically for healthcare infrastructure and connected devices. It will be available immediately as part of CloudWave’s new Sensato Cybersecurity suite.”

The press release adds that as healthcare organizations continue to be targeted by cybercriminals, CloudWave’s Sensato Cybersecurity suite combines the two companies’ abilities to comply with best practices and regulations, detect threats, and respond to cybersecurity incidents in one platform. Further, the Sensato Cybersecurity suite and CloudWave’s OpSus Cloud Services will enable hospitals to implement a fully managed cybersecurity program that will result in full HIPAA and NIST compliance with support from a single provider. The company has a Cybersecurity Tactical Operations Center, a SOC, that provides continuous monitoring by cybersecurity analysts along with machine learning.

Rich Temple, vice president, CIO at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, N.J., was quoted in the release saying that, “The Sensato Cybersecurity suite offers a level of healthcare data protection to hospitals that would be difficult to implement on our own. There’s peace of mind in knowing that our systems are being monitored and protected by an experienced team of cybersecurity specialists.”

John Gomez, founder of Sensato, will join CloudWave as chief security and engineering officer. The press release concludes by saying that the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
