Deloitte Acquires Healthcare Data Analytics and Warehousing Firm

The New York-based Deloitte announced it has acquired the Newton, Mass.-based Recombinant Data Corp., a data warehousing and analytics provider. Recombinant Data, Deloitte says, uses their warehousing and clinical intelligence software to enable advances in personalized medicine, translational research, and healthcare performance management.

Peter Emerson, CEO of Recombinant, said in a statement: "This will allow us to make a greater impact on clients and the direction of health care; Deloitte and Recombinant share the same vision on how the industry is changing, and our combination provides a level of scale that can help reshape the clinical informatics industry."

Recombinant, founded in 2005, will become a part of Deloitte Consulting Innovation under the name "Recombinant by Deloitte." The company, Deloitte says, has products that can bolster value-based payment models, create performance management solutions for accountable care organizations (ACOs), and allow federal agencies and life sciences companies to conduct translational research. The company possesses a multitude of government customers.
