UHC Adds Payment Service to Plan Participant Portal
UnitedHealthcare (UHC), the Minnetonka, Minn.-based health insurer, has improved its claims management website with the addition of an electronic bill-payment service that enables consumers to pay their medical bills, and manage their healthcare claims and related expenses all from one location.
The online service, known as myClaims Manager, is available to more than 21 million UnitedHealthcare plan participants nationwide.
The bill-pay feature is the latest enhancement to UHC’s plan participant portal. The new service enables consumers to pay medical bills electronically by entering their credit card, debit card, health savings account, or bank account information, adding convenience for consumers while helping healthcare providers get paid faster and easier, UHC officials say.
“Technology is rapidly changing how people interact with healthcare professionals, navigate the healthcare system and make healthcare payments,” Franco Rizzolopartner and administrator of Suburban Orthopedic Medical Center in Newark, N.J, said in a statement. “The capabilities available through myClaims Manager, including the ability for patients to make quick and easy payments, represent an important advancement that is benefiting patients as well as healthcare providers.”
