Rugged, Lightweight, Convertible

July 1, 2006
Panasonic’s Toughbook CF-18 is a rugged, convertible tablet PC that transforms from notebook to tablet with a twist of its swivel-hinge. It offers keyboard, touchscreen and handwriting modes, integrated wireless connectivity (LAN, WAN, GPS and Bluetooth) and, according to the manufacturer, the industry’s brightest LCD screen (500 NIT). Built for durability using MIL-STD-810F test procedures, it features a magnesium alloy case; a moisture and dust-resistant LCD, keyboard and touchpad; sealed port and connector covers; and a shock-mounted removable hard drive. It also includes 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM (upgradeable to 1536 MB) and a 1.2 GHz Pentium M processor.
