BETHESDA, Md. – February 22, 2010 –  GetWellNetwork, Inc. , the leader in  interactive patient care , today welcomed  Childrens Hospital Los Angeles  to its growing roster of pediatric hospitals.  Childrens Hospital will deploy GetWellNetwork’s innovative  GetWell Town ™ pediatric solution for patient entertainment, education and clinical engagement in their new 317-bed facility scheduled to open in spring 2011.

Designed for kids and teens, GetWell Town allows clinicians and hospital staff to more actively engage pediatric patients and their families in the care process via the bedside television.  Using personalized health education from KidsHealth® and interactive care plans exclusive to GetWellNetwork, GetWell Town goes beyond patient entertainment to create a care environment that empowers patients and their families.

“The key factors that drove our selection of GetWellNetwork were its specialized pediatric focus and leadership in clinical integration,” said Mary Dee Hacker, vice president and Chief Nursing Officer for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.  “The new hospital will serve as a healing environment for our pediatric patients and GetWellNetwork will help them engage more fully in their health care process while simultaneously enabling us to more efficiently meet their clinical needs.”

GetWell Town also provides patients with a variety of amenities, including Hollywood movies, games, superior Internet surfing and instant messaging.
