NY/NJ Veterans Healthcare Network Selects CliniComp Essentris

Feb. 23, 2010 – CliniComp, Intl., a global provider of mission critical  clinical documentation systems, announced today that the New York / New Jersey Veterans Healthcare Network (VISN 3) selected CliniComp’s Essentris® ED™ and Essentris® Critical Care™  solutions to improve quality, safety and outcomes at its emergency departments and intensive care and post anesthesia care units. VISN 3, which is one of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ 21 Veterans Integrated Service Networks, will deploy the solutions at five facilities: the New York and Brooklyn Campuses of the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System; James J. Peters VA Medical Center; Northport VA Medical Center; and East Orange Campus of the VA New Jersey Healthcare System.
 
The Essentris suite will replace paper flowsheets in the medical and surgical intensive care units and interoperate with VistA Computerized Patient Record System and Bar Code Medication Administration, the VA’s permanent electronic patient record and inpatient medication applications, respectively. CliniComp’s solutions will further assist VA nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists and other qualified staff provide better care to patients by extracting real-time data and waveforms from physiologic monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators and other bedside devices, enabling a more complete picture of the patient’s condition.
 
The VISN 3 agreement is the third contract signed by the VA and CliniComp over the past four months. Last November and December, the Department awarded contracts for CliniComp to provide critical care solutions for VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network (VISN 17) and VA Rocky Mountain Network (VISN 19).
