As changes in healthcare gain momentum, whether they be the mandates of health reform or the emergence of new clinical and financial models such as Medical Homes or Accountable Care Organizations, it is becoming obvious that a new dynamic and interaction is required among all the participants and stakeholders in the healthcare process. And while it is true that healthcare is becoming increasingly “patient-centric”, it is also true that in order to fulfill this goal, patients need to become engaged in their own care in a way never before seen.
