Louisville, KY – May 28, 2013 – ZirMed, a leading health information connectivity and management solutions company, today announced that John Muir Health, a not-for-profit integrated delivery system of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare services, has selected ZirMed’s suite of cloud-based revenue cycle management, clinical communications and analytics tools to enhance its financial and operational performance.
In conjunction with its initiative to implement Epic’s electronic medical record (EMR) system, EpicCare EMR, John Muir Health determined it needed additional capabilities to improve claims performance, share normalized data as part of its ACO initiative, perform strategic analytics, and improve EDI efficiency. After a thorough market search, John Muir Health determined that ZirMed’s cloud-based platform and network were the best choice to supplement its Epic initiative, while supporting its enterprise-wide revenue performance and ACO plans. One of the key benefits of the ZirMed platform for John Muir Health’s ACO initiative is that it automatically standardizes all data on its network, solving one of the most fundamental challenges associated with ACOs – sharing data among multiple payers and providers using disparate systems.
“We performed an extensive search to find a solution suite that would integrate seamlessly and comprehensively with our new Epic system and found that the ZirMed platform is way ahead of all of the others in terms of offering a very modern software architecture,” said Chris Pass, Senior Vice President, Revenue Cycle & Analytics, John Muir Health. “ZirMed also demonstrates a much deeper commitment to working with its customers, being flexible to their needs and driving innovation based on those needs, not limited by the constraints of older, antiquated systems.”
ZirMed Analytics will provide John Muir Health with deeper insight into its revenue cycle and clinical communications, such as gleaning analytical data from its referrals to make operational improvements. Other ZirMed solutions John Muir Health is set to implement include: Clinical Link, Medical Claims Management, Electronic Remittance Advice, Eligibility Verification, Patient Statement and Verafund Manager for Payer Payments.
“We are seeing tremendous interest from organizations like John Muir Health that see the value that comes from taking communications and analytics to a new level of sophistication,” said Tom Butts, CEO, ZirMed. “These larger, integrated systems have been frustrated historically by the limited capabilities of the big players in this space and their inflexible models, in contrast, ZirMed offers flexible, easy-to-use technology that enables healthcare organizations to gain greater insight into their financial performance and optimize their data.”
ZirMed leverages its massive, national database of healthcare payment information to cure administrative burdens and increase financial performance. ZirMed’s Best in KLAS solutions equip more than 160,000 providers with the tools to facilitate, manage and analyze clinical and financial communications among providers, payers and patients.
