HCI'S ONLINE EXECUTIVE INTERVIEWS SERIES

One-on-One with Janet Dillione, CEO, Health Services Business Unit, Siemens Healthcare

Coming in at number five in this year's HCI 100, Siemens Healthcare is clearly a powerhouse among the industry's vendors. What's more, it is one of only two vendors that offers core clinical functionality to hospitals, such as EMR and CPOE, while also playing heavily in the PACS, RIS and modality space. Recently, HCI Editor-in-Chief Anthony Guerra spoke with Dillione about where the company stands - and is going - in the industry's HITECH-fueled environment.

The organization recently completed an extensive nine-week training regimen with its 1,200-member physician group to lay the groundwork for CPOE adoption and proper use of the EHR. Anthony Guerra had a chance to talk with Rothenhaus about how the current federal policy initiatives were affecting his plans.

Virtual Hospital Tour

When Atlantic Health - a 1,200-bed system located in northern New Jersey - formed in 1998, it brought together two formerly competing stand-alone hospitals: Morristown Memorial Hospital, which specializes in cardiology, and Overlook Hospital, a center for neurologic treatment. Together, the two hospitals offer a wide range of services to patients, including pediatrics, cancer care and bariatric services.
