MU Reporting Deadline Nears

Oct. 3 is the deadline for eligible professionals to begin their 90-day reporting period for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program for calendar year 2011. Nov. 30, 2011, is the last day for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals to register and attest to receive an incentive payment for federal fiscal year 2011. To get the maximum incentive payment, Medicare-eligible professionals must begin participation by 2012.

Nov. 30, 2011, is the last day for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals to register and attest to receive an incentive payment for federal fiscal year 2011. To get the maximum incentive payment, Medicare-eligible professionals must begin participation by 2012.

CMS’ Office of e-Health Standards and Services recently noted that as of the end of August, more than 90,000 eligible physicians, other professionals and hospitals were taking part in the Medicare and Medicaid electronic health record incentive programs.

On the Medicaid EHR incentive front, more than $389 million has been paid since the program began in January and 27 states have operational programs.
