What is the latest around business intelligence technology in healthcare? @Dalo0ol81 9/12/14

Sept. 30, 2015

This is actually a time of significant progress in the area of business intelligence and analytics solutions in healthcare, because the need for those solutions is expanding dramatically. What’s pushing everything forward is the development of accountable care organizations, population health management strategies, value-based purchasing programs, readmissions reduction work, and patient-centered medical homes, in U.S. healthcare. Every one of those phenomena requires a tremendous amount of business intelligence and analytics support, and vendors are working hard and fast to try to provide usable solutions. This is absolutely a “catch-up” area for healthcare IT; until a few years ago, it was largely underfunded and under-developed. But look for it to continue to expand and evolve forward rapidly.
