As I pulled out my blue book from my filing cabinet the other night, I couldn’t help but think that there really has to be a better way. After all, it’s 2008 — almost 2009 — and there I was, staring at a simple folded light blue paper booklet. Of course, this simple paper is far from ordinary. It’s my son’s Lifetime Health Record and it’s where I’ve documented all of his health information. Admittedly, when I first got the book I had no idea how much I’d use it. Of course, I really can’t be blamed as I was probably still pretty high from the pain killers I was taking post-C-section. But who knows, maybe soon with projects such as Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Project HealthDesign or Google’s PHR I’ll soon be able to wean myself from the paper and won't cost me the price of a car.
