Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) in Annapolis, Md., has implemented VISion: Asset Management from Traverse City, Mich.-based Versus Technology, Inc. to more effectively monitor equipment and improve efficiency and patient flow throughout the 300-bed facility.

The center currently tracks 600 hospital assets in and between the AAMC Acute Care, Clatanoff and Edwards pavilions, and plans to track more than 3,000 assets after a second patient tower is added. This month, AAMC is deploying Versus Reports Plus software to establish equipment baselines for clinical areas, conduct an equipment flow study, and create a model for equipment storage, it says.

Anne Arundel is a regional healthcare system serving nearly one million people in Maryland. Nearly 23,000 patients are admitted into AAMC each year, and more than 5,700 births and more than 72,000 emergency room visits are conducted at the medical center annually.
