Benjamin Williams has joined San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), the nation's eighth largest hospital system, as senior vice president/CIO.

According to CHW, Williams will lead the consolidated technology efforts of the organization's 42 hospitals across California, Arizona and Nevada. He will oversee the organization's business intelligence, information technology and clinical information systems, including the ongoing rollout of CareConnect, CHW's electronic health record and computerized physician order entry system.

Managing a team of approximately 1,000 professionals, Williams is based at the CHW corporate offices in Phoenix and also maintains an office at CHW's headquarters in San Francisco.
