NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (New York), a not-for-profit, 2,242-bed hospital, has successfully migrated a large portion of its enterprise-wide IT server processing and storage infrastructure to Atlanta-based Eclipsys Corp.’s Remote Hosting Services.

In addition to the migration of mission-critical applications to the Eclipsys Technology Solutions Center in New Jersey, NewYork-Presbyterian has also upgraded to the latest version of the Sunrise Clinical Manager suite of solutions, the company says. In choosing to have a portion of its technology infrastructure hosted offsite, Eclipsys says the hospital hopes to reduce costs and remove the burden of day-to-day maintenance, which will enable clinicians to delivery high quality patient care.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has nearly 2 million inpatient and outpatient visits in a year, including more than 230,000 visits to its emergency departments. The Hospital provides state-of-the-art inpatient, ambulatory and preventive care in all areas of medicine at five major centers: NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Pavilion and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester Division.
