The Dallas-based Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) has named Michael P. Dugan Chief Information Officer, responsible for FSMB’s extensive data and records management and its online enterprise. He will assist FSMB CEO Humayun Chaudhry, focusing on advancing FSMB’s long-term position in the health care information technology arena.
Dugan has served for the last four years as Director of Information Technology Planning at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, leading Parkland’s implementation of a new Electronic Medical Record system and other IT initiatives. He also served as served as Interim Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to his work at Parkland, Dugan served in a variety of positions at Perot Systems Corporation, both in Boston and Orange, Calif. He began his career in 1987 as a Systems Engineer at General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, Texas. Dugan holds a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University.
