Allscripts and the
American Medical Association (AMA), both based in Chicago, are partnering to offer to physicians an AMA-branded e-prescribing tool based on Allscripts’ technology.
The new product requires no download and can be accessed from any Web-enabled device, according to the company. It can generate secure electronic prescriptions and deliver them to retail and mail order pharmacies via Surescripts, it says.
The e-prescribing tool will be available at no cost to subscribers of an AMA Web-based solution that is currently in beta testing. Users of the solution, which AMA plans to launch in 2010, will be able to access information, products, services, and resources designed to facilitate medical practice and speed IT adoption, says the company.
