The U.S. Air Force has deployed Belgium-based Agfa HealthCare’s Impax PACS to replace the existing system at Keesler Air Force Base’s Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Miss.

According to the company, Impax includes security features such as armoring, encryption, access control, auditing and compliance with regional legislation, which the Air Force hopes will help in achieving its goal of securely connecting and consolidating data and imaging archives located at multiple regional facilities onto a single point of storage.

Keesler Medical Center is one of the largest medical centers in the Air Force. Its diagnostic imaging department boasts an array of state-of-the-art equipment, including the Air Force’s only 3-Tesla MRI system, says the company.
