GE Healthcare (United Kingdom) announced it has entered into an exclusive collaboration with the Waukesha,Wis-based West Physics Consulting to provide accreditation support services for GE’s magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, and positron emission tomography (PET) customers seeking accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR).

GE Healthcare is committed to improving the quality of healthcare delivered to patients worldwide and has been providing accreditation support to its imaging customers since 2008. GE Healthcare hopes to assist even more customers with achieving ACR accreditation by expanding its current accreditation support program.

The new service offerings that this collaboration brings will help hospitals and outpatient facilities nationwide achieve accreditation for their GE and non-GE imaging systems the first time they apply, and then reliably maintain it. Specifically, the services are designed to help customers through all areas of the ACR application and ongoing maintenance process: clinical image submission; phantom image submission; yearly medical physicist survey; and site quality control measures.
