Medfusion (Cary, N.C.), a provider of communications solutions, has acquired San Francisco-based Medem’s iHealth suite of services for physicians and the iHealth Personal Health Record solution for patients.

With the acquisition, Medfusion claims it now offers the most highly-used and adopted PHR in the industry. Medem’s 8,000 providers will join the Medfusion Physician Network, which also includes Medfusion’s Referral Portal, a secure tool for physicians to exchange patient referral information, it says.
