GE Healthcare (Waukesha, Wis.) has updated its Centricity Enterprise, a software suite of clinical and financial applications.

According to GE, additional features of the solution include a Web-based portal that provides patients with access to their personal information, including appointments, billing and health history. In addition, the company contends the updated version is supported by the HP NonStop Itanium platform, which increases scalability and supports simultaneous transactions and users.

The software provides caregivers with access to a patient's electronic records, while also utilizing computerized provider order entry (CPOE), which screens medication orders for potential errors, says GE.
