Royal Philips Electronics (Andover, Mass.) is launching an optimized repair and tracking system for mobile diagnostic imaging systems.

According to the company, Philips Remote Services (PRS) for Mobiles can help avoid productivity losses due to missing equipment by employing global positioning system (GPS) location technology, Internet data connectivity, and standard voice service to locate units and diagnose, and potentially repair, the imaging equipment remotely.

Co-designed with Astral Communications, the PRS system was created to help customers prevent revenue losses on equipment and reduce downtime, says the company.
