Shelby Baptist Medical Center (Alabaster, Ala.), part of the four-hospital Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Ala., has rolled out UnitStock, a documentation and reporting application from Pharmacy OneSource, Inc. (Bellevue, Wash.)
According to the company, Shelby Baptist plans to use the solution to track medication storage inspections for 27 hospital units, which will help it to meet Joint Commission standards. With UnitStock, users can document unit inspections via the Web or on a handheld device; run real-time reports to determine which units have been inspected; view completed inspection reports; and monitor trends in compliance by unit and by criteria, it touts.
The medical center is also using Pharmacy OneSource’s Amplifi to manage, update, and communicate its formulary online, says the company.
Shelby Baptist is a 192-bed acute care facility offering a range of clinical services including cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency services, orthopedics, neurology, urology and gastroenterology, along with specialized medical and surgical care.
