Fauquier Health System (Warrenton, Va.) says it will be the first health system in the nation to pilot DrFirst's electronic medication reconciliation system.

According to DrFirst (Rockville, Md.), RcopiaAC (acute care) is a Web-based application that automatically incorporates a patient's current prescription information into the hospital environment so that any potential new medications can be compared to limit drug interactions.

In addition, the system also allows Fauquier, a non-profit community health system, to incorporate outpatient medication information into the inpatient setting, being the first system to track internal and external records, according to DrFirst.
