The Chicago-based Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) has chosen Nick Radov, director of research and development for Axolotl Corp. (San Jose, Calif.), to serve as a member of its Health Information Exchange (HIE) Work Group for 2009-10.
Composed of 20 members, the group will develop the criteria and inspection process for certifying the HIEs over which patient information is securely shared, according to Axolotl.
Radov brings more than 12 years of experience and knowledge to the HIE Work Group, as he was instrumental in leading Axolotl’s efforts with product conformance testing for Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise profiles, the National Health Infrastructure Network project for HHS, and representing the company to the HL7 standards organization, it says.
Two of Axolotl’s customers were also selected: Robert C. Steffel, president and CEO of Greater Cincinnati HealthBridge, Inc., and Deborah Bass, President and CEO of Bass & Associates, Inc, and Interim Executive Director of the Nebraska Health Information Initiative.
