Lake Charles Medical and Surgical Clinic, a multi-specialty physician-owned partnership based in Lake Charles, La., has signed an agreement with Medical Present Value Inc. (MPV), a provider of financial tools and services, to manage payer contracts and audit reimbursement.
Under the terms of the agreement, the clinic will use MPV's combination of contract modeling and definition services and Web-based technology to determine expected reimbursement for medical claims, monitor payer compliance with contract terms and identify potential underpayments.
According to MPV (Austin, Texas), its reimbursement analysts will help the clinic to better understand payer contract terms by defining the terms of individual contracts, modeling contract terms line-by-line into MPV's Phynance application, and maintaining a database of payment policies.
