Verizon says its new product is designed to enable providers to leverage Web, audio and video conferencing technologies to consult remotely with patients and other providers.

The company says its product provides continuing medical education and training to medical professionals, and helps healthcare administrators avoid costly and time-consuming travel.

As part of its consultancy, Verizon says its staff works with healthcare organizations to assess their collaboration readiness, as well as to design, implement and support a broad range of Web and audio conferencing services, and video capabilities from desktop Web cams to high-definition and immersive video.
