A pediatrician at Community Care Physicians in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. is the first user of a new iPhone application from Chicago-based Allscripts that provides clinician access to Allscript’s EHR at any time using the iPhone or iPod touch.

With the application, physicians can view a patient’s medical summary — including history, lab results and medications, communicate with local emergency rooms, and use the e-prescribing function, says the company.

Community Care Physicians, PC, is a physician-owned, physician-governed, multispecialty medical group with more than 200 physicians and other clinical providers, located in four counties surrounding the Albany, N.Y. area.
