IT professionals are hungry for information on emerging technologies and guidance on the integration of IT systems in healthcare, according to the

IT professionals are hungry for information on emerging technologies and guidance on the integration of IT systems in healthcare, according to the results of a survey conducted by Chicago-based CE-IT Community.

According to the survey, respondents requested that the following CE-IT issues be addressed:
· Integration of systems/devices in a multi-vendor environment.
· Developing an IT infrastructure to adequately support medical technology.
· Recommendations and guidance on implementing new technologies, including wireless systems. · Guidance on FDA regulations.

The CE-IT is a coalition of three national associations including the Arlington, Va.-based Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), the Plymouth, Pa.-based American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE), and the Chicago-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
