San Francisco-based McKesson Corp. has rolled out an advanced diagnostics management solution (ADM), designed to simplify molecular and genetic test selection and reimbursement. The company says its system will enable informed test selection, electronic routing, and automatic authorization against centralized rules for coverage and orders

McKesson says the Web-based service, powered by Atlanta’s RelayHealth, intelligently connects payers, clinical laboratories and providers to help physicians order the most appropriate tests for the right cost at the point of care. It is designed to help providers gain electronic access to labs’ test catalogs and health plans’ rules for eligibility, automatic pre-authorization, network coverage, and price estimation.
