The Agence de la Santé et des Services Sociaux de Montréal (Montréal Ministry of Health and Social Services), an agency of the Quebec ministry, is planning to implement medical imaging technologies across the province’s two largest hospital networks, the company says.
Montréal-headquartered McKesson Canada and its health information technology division, Integrated Healthcare Solutions, will lead a consortium to create one of the largest diagnostic imaging repository in North America, the company says.
Under the $64 million, eight-year agreement, McKesson Canada will provide Horizon Medical Imaging PACS to the 43 hospital facilities within the regions of RUIS McGill and RUIS Montréal University-affiliated hospital group. In total, the company says, the hospitals serve 60 percent of Québec’s population.
McKesson Canada is a wholly-owned subsidiary of McKesson Corp. of San Francisco.
