Avreo, a Charleston, S.C.-based developer of a family of Web-based radiology workflow solutions, has announced an agreement with InSite One, Walingford, Conn., to offer hosted Avreo solutions through partnerships with local distributors in the United States and internationally. As part of the agreement, InSite One will now offer Avreo’s interVIEW, interORTHO, and interWORKS radiology workflow solutions in hosted configurations at InSite One data centers in addition to Avreo’s interDAYHAWK solution currently hosted with InSite One. This agreement also extends the capabilities of interDAYHAWK by including a hosted referring physician portal and offers a new interSECONDARY archive solution for Avreo customers who want to retain archive storage on-site. Over the past six years, Avreo and InSite One have established a partnership to provide secure off-site DICOM archive and disaster recovery solutions to Avreo customers.
As part of the agreement, InSite One will host Avreo’s family of radiology workflow solutions in their data centers. Healthcare organizations that contract with InSite One and their local distributors will then access Avreo’s hosted web-based solutions from these InSite One data centers. Avreo’s innovative single application, single database solution combined with its zero-impact application installation provides healthcare professionals access to their entire workflow from any location.
Through InSite One’s partnerships with local distributors in South Africa, Avreo’s hosted solutions will become available to radiologists in South Africa private practice and public health. InSite One and Avreo already host several PACS solutions in the U.S. for physician practices providing after-hours coverage and day reading services.
Avreo’s interDAYHAWK hosted solution geared toward radiology practices that provide virtual reading services to healthcare organizations now includes a referring physician portal. This portal provides referring physicians with access to web-based access study images and reports hosted in the InSite One data center. The portal will provide another avenue for referring physicians to access patient information, according to Avreo.
Avreo’s latest agreement with InSite One also adds a new archive option for Avreo’s customers who want to retain archive storage on-site. The new interSECONDARY archive compliments Avreo’s existing interPRIMARY on-site storage by providing a DICOM compliant archival copy of study images and clinical information vital to the operation of any healthcare enterprise. In the event of a disaster, the interSECONDARY archive can restore the interPRIMARY storage system as needed. Because interPRIMARY and interSECONDARY store images in a vendor neutral DICOM format, any DICOM compliant system, such as a PACS, can query the archive and data as security permits giving healthcare organizations maximum flexibility in managing data access.
