NeoScale Systems (Milpitas, Calif.), an enterprise storage security vendor, and BridgeHead Software (Woburn, Mass.), an archival storage management software company, have created an integrated solution for securing sensitive backup data for the healthcare industry.
NeoScale's CryptoStor Tape Encryption tool now supports BridgeHead's serverless backup component of Westwood, Mass.-based Meditech's Health Information System Application. According to NeoScale, the integrated backup encryption solution enables healthcare institutions to proactively protect sensitive patient information through encryption of backup data and improve the hospital's business continuity. The company says the NeoScale, BridgeHead and Meditech solution can facilitate hospitals' compliance with government security mandates, such as HIPAA.
