Stephanie “Stevie” Davidson has been appointed by New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine to serve on the state Health Information Technology Commission (Trenton, N.J.), a new body created to accelerate the conversion to computerized patient records by physicians.

In her current position as president and CEO of Montgomery, N.J.-based Health Informatics Consulting, Davidson has helped numerous clinicians, hospitals and health systems make the switch from paper to electronic health records.

The 19-member commission, housed in the state Department of Health and Senior Services, is tasked with drafting a plan for establishing a secure, integrated, and interoperable statewide electronic health information infrastructure that will allow electronic health information and records to be quickly and securely shared among doctors, hospitals and other healthcare facilities, insurers and patients, according to the organization.
