Perry Sims has been appointed Chief Information Officer of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH, Atlanta) by Rhonda Medows, M.D., Commissioner and State Health Officer.
Sims has been with DCH since October 2007, serving as Director of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). He was also the project executive for the Department’s new MMIS and part of DCH’s information technology leadership team for the MMIS implementation. Since joining DCH, Sims has been instrumental in improving operational support of the Department’s legacy MMIS and helping to shape the Department’s strategic objectives towards several other healthcare technology initiatives.
Sims, who served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, earned a B.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Public Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery.
