California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) has chosen RES-Q's (Calabasas, Calif.) Labor Resource Management system in an effort to automate staffing and scheduling for its 1,200 employees.

According to RES-Q, its solution is a Web-enabled, Windows-based, client/server software application for employee resource management, staffing and scheduling. CHMC is also piloting self-scheduling for nurses on the system to increase nursing satisfaction and flexibility, says the company.

CHMC is a 316-bed acute care hospital serving downtown Los Angeles and is part of San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), the largest not-for-profit hospital provider in Calif.
