CCHIT has published criteria and test scripts developed during the 2009 cycle, along with a “Concise Guide to CCHIT Criteria,” on its Web site.

The criteria pertain to ambulatory, inpatient, enterprise and ED EHRs, as well as for the newly developed stand-alone electronic prescribing certification. The Commission also published criteria for the ambulatory add-on options in child health and cardiovascular medicine.

The accompanying guide is specific to the ambulatory and inpatient criteria. The guide maps CCHIT’s criteria to the characteristics of a “qualified” EHR, as described in the ARRA legislation.

CCHIT also noted that it is adjusting its timelines to be better in synch with ARRA/HITECH developments.
